Vivo X90 is expected to come with a new sensor in its portrait camera

Vivo X90 is expected to come with a new sensor in its portrait camera. The largest Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo, introduced, or should we say “bragged about,” the X90 series cameras earlier this week. The firm claimed credit for several advancements made by itself and its partner Zeiss, but it was cagey about providing specifics.

However, it gave us some images its cameras captured to admire. Fortunately, we were recently provided with some information regarding the X90 camera system from a reliable source. The information is lacking in certain areas (like the ultra-wide camera) yet comprehensive in others (like the specs of the other image sensors).

Vivo X90 is expected to come with a new sensor in its portrait camera.

Please be aware that the configuration differences between the Vivo X90 Pro and Pro+ are still unclear. The X90 series will, as predicted, have a 1″ sensor, and at the time, that sensor size is only available in the IMX989. The presentation stated the new Vivo V2 ISP chip that would power this. It is efficient since it blends conventional ISP methods with cutting-edge AI algorithms (16.3 TOPS per Watt).

The telephoto camera’s 64MP sensor will be an OmniVision OV64B, a 1/2.” device that packs 0.7m pixels, 4-in-1 pixel binning, and 3-exposure staggered HDR. The lens’ focal length is yet undetermined. Similar to the X80 series, there will be a portrait lens, but this time it will be combined with a 50-megapixel sensor. Intriguingly, our insider claims that the IMX758 (1/2.51″) sensor will make its first appearance in the Vivo X90 series.
