Redmi, the sub-brand of Chinese tech giant Xiaomi will release the Redmi K40 series in Q1,2020. For a few days, there are many rumors running based on this series. From a Weibo post of Redmi GM Lu Wellbeing, we got a concept about this series. He confirmed to us that the top model of this series will debut with Snapdragon 888 SoC. But yesterday the Redmi GM also confirmed to us that one of this series will be debut with the newly released MediaTek’s 6nm Chipset.
This is most likely the Dimensity 1200 (MT6893) which is touted as MediaTek’s latest flagship chipset. It will launch on January 20. Certainly, Rumors suggest that it will be a good performer than the Snapdragon 865.
The latest details suggest the upcoming 6nm Dimensity 1200 chip will bring an overclocked 3GHz Cortex-A78 main CPU core alongside three more A78s working at 2.6GHz, and four power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores humming at 2GHz. The Mali-G77 will cover the GPU side. The SoC will also support LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
According to previous year’s Redmi K30 series, we are expecting the Redmi K40 Ultra with this chipset.
