Motorola unveiled its latest smartphone, the Edge 50 Pro, in India, marking a significant shift in its lineup. The device boasts the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, a high-resolution 1220p AMOLED display with a speedy 144Hz refresh rate, and an impressive triple camera setup. This release marks Moto’s entry into the premium upper midrange market segment.

The Edge 50 Pro features a curved 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1220 pixel resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel shines brightly at 2,000 nits. It’s the pioneer smartphone boasting Pantone-validated colors, ensuring precise real-world colors and skin tones. It comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner also.
Software, Chipset, and performance
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and paired up with 8GB/12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. This device comes with Motorola’s latest HelloUX interface, built on Android 14, which introduces innovative AI-driven options for personalized wallpapers. The Moto Edge 50 Pro will pioneer support for Motorola Smart Connect, a fresh suite of continuity functions spanning smartphones, tablets, and PCs by Motorola and Lenovo. These features facilitate seamless interaction across devices, including external screen support and data synchronization.
Camera
On the back, it features a triple camera setup- a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.4 aperture and OIS alongside a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and a 13MP ultrawide lens which also doubles as a macro cam. On the front, it has a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus. The Edge 50 Pro marks Motorola’s debut in AI Photo Enhancement Engine technology, tailored for capturing motion and segmenting colors.
Battery
The Edge 50 Pro has a 4,500 mAh battery with 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It’s IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is available in black and lavender. It also comes in a special Moonlight Pearl edition crafted by Mazzucchelli in 1849.
You can get the 8/256GB variant for INR 31,999 ($383) and the 12/256GB version for INR 35,999 ($431). Sales open in India on April 9, and the Moonlight Pearl edition launches a day earlier, on April 8 at 7 PM India time.
