MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 leaks, promises Snapdragon 888-like performance. In a brand new Weibo posting, Digital Chat Station revealed the main specifications of MediaTek’s forthcoming Dimensity8100 chipset. Another post said that the SoC is expected to be launched with the upcoming Redmi smartphone in the next month.
This Dimensity 8100 is said to have four Cortex-A78 cores running with 2.85GHz and four Cortex-A55 processors operating at 2.0GHz. There’s a slight ambiguity regarding the GPU, where the software recognizes it as G610 MC6 GPU, however the document leakers obtained suggests G510 instead. The GPU is built using TSMC’s 5nm manufacturing technology and has support for LDDR5 memory as well as UFS 3.1 storage.
