Leak claims Oppo Find X7 Ultra will be the only smartphone to have dual periscope cameras in 2024
Oppo just released the Find X7 smartphone series, featuring the standard Find X7 and the high-end X7 Ultra. Notably, the X7 Ultra is the world’s first phone with two periscope lenses.
The phone boasts a powerful 65mm 3x periscope camera equipped with a spacious Sony IMX890 sensor and a vivid f/2.6 aperture. With Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), it excels at focusing on objects as close as 25cm.
The X7 Ultra boasts a 135mm 6x telephoto camera featuring a Sony IMX858 sensor and OIS, allowing precise focus on subjects just 35cm away. Oppo asserts that its four-camera system enables seamless zooming from 14mm to 270mm without compromising image quality—an impressive feat. Contrary to speculations about Xiaomi and Vivo introducing Ultra models with dual-periscope lenses this year, Digital Chat Station, a reputable tipster, hints otherwise.
A Weibo post reveals that DCS has gathered intel from the supply chain, highlighting Oppo as the sole company set to feature dual periscope technology in 2023. Oppo’s unique position stems from not just having the required hardware but also employing effective post-processing algorithms for optimal results.
