We also have an iQOO 9 SE in our headquarters to test. Before we test it through its paces, let’s put the 9 SE to the test, we’ll look at what the lowest-priced smartphone within the 9 series can offer. Its iQOO 9 SE comes with the 6.62″ 120Hz AMOLED display that is protected from Panda Glass. It’s HDR10+ certified, and boasts 1200 nits of peak brightness.

It also comes with the ability to sample at 300Hz and a instant 1,000Hz touch sampling rate , with an opening at the center to accommodate the 16-megapixel selfie camera and an embedded fingerprint scanner to allow biometric authentication.

The fingerprint scanner isn’t quite as effective as the ultrasonic one that we use in the iQOO 9 Pro, but it’s sufficient to give an easy and secure unlocking experience. Its rear-facing panel iQOO 9 SE sports a rectangular island housing flash as well as three cameras: main 48MP (with OIS) and 13MP ultrawide and a monochrome 2MP unit.

The iQOO 9 SE is available in the trendy Sunset Sierra color, but there’s an additional Space Fusion color option for those looking for something more discreet. The back cover of the smartphone is susceptible to smudges and these are evident on the Sunset Sierra version at certain angles.

This is also true about the mirror-like plates that extend beneath the camera module, that is more glossy than the other parts of the panel. Inside it’s the iQOO 9 SE has the Snapdragon 888 SoC that is joined with an Intelligent Display Chip we have on the more expensive iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro.

This iQOO 9 SE is running Android 12 based FuntouchOS 12 right out right out of the box and comes with two memory options, 8GB/128GB or 12GB/256GB. This iQOO 9 SE also comes with NFC as well as stereo speakers and USB-C.

It also has four-dimensional Game Vibration technology, an IP52 ratings and liquid cooling in the vapor chamber, as well as a 4,500mAh battery that is charged at 66W, instead of 120W as with the regular and Pro versions. iQOO claims that the bundled adapter 66W can charge the battery from flat through 50% within just 14 minutes and to 100% within 39 minutes. The truth will be revealed in our comprehensive review, where we’ll also examine the other iQOO 9 SE’s features, so keep an eye out!
