The iPhone 15 Pro has the same 5G modem as this. The Apple A16 Bionic processor, used in the iPhone 14 Pros last year, makes this fascinating for the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. But back then, the X65 modem was linked with such chipsets.

The current configuration is A16 + X70 for base models and A17 + X70 for Pros. Accordingly, there have been significant internal redesigns and improvements; Apple didn’t simply take a 14 Pro motherboard and slap it in an iPhone 15 body.
In addition to having a new AI processor for better performance, the X70 modem is more energy-efficient than its predecessor. By the way, during the Apple-Qualcomm legal dispute, certain court documents appeared in 2020, revealing that the initial intention was to employ a combination of X65 and X70 modems for the 2022 and 2023 iPhones. Due to Apple’s desire to use its modem, it meant to end it.
