The Honor Magic6 will include a 160MP periscope zoom camera instead of a 200MP one, according to a trustworthy tip from Digital Chat Station on Weibo. Honor has chosen the 160MP option, opting out of the 200MP imager.
The Magic6’s main camera will feature the OV50K sensor, as revealed by an insider. Contrary to expectations, it won’t be a 1-inch type sensor but instead approximately 1/1.3-inch, similar in size to the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 200MP main imager. Digital Chat Station notes that the OV50K, equipped with LOFIC technology (lateral overflow integration capacitor-based CMOS), will capture impressive images. This technology is essentially a stacked sensor, similar to those found in the Xperia 1 V and OnePlus Open (Oppo Find N3).
The Honor Magic6 might launch in China soon, followed by a global release. Its predecessor was released in March this year. We don’t know enough about the specs of this device. But it will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with AI capabilities.
