Honor and Porsche Design just teamed up to create top-tier smartphones. Details on these phones are scarce, but the first batch is set to launch in January 2024.
A recent leak suggests that the initial Porsche Design releases might include the Magic6 Pro and Magic6 Porsche Design models. Shared by a Weibo user, the leak showcases two distinct phone models. The leaked image of the Magic6 Porsche Design reveals a distinctive two-tone horizontal design with an apparent leather finish, featuring prominently displayed Honor and Porsche Design logos on the back.
Introducing the Magic6 Pro – a noticeable resemblance to the previous Magic5 Pro. This year, a distinctive accelerometer-inspired design surrounds the outer edge of the more compact camera cluster. While some might find it a bit tacky, there’s an audience for this unique feature.
Anticipated are three mainline models of Honor6: Honor6, Honor6 Pro, and Honor6 Ultimate. It remains uncertain if a separate Porsche Design edition will be available for each. Notably, the Magic6 Lite, a rebranded Honor X9b, is unlikely to receive the Porsche Design treatment.
Early specs for the Magic6 series include a QHD OLED display and a pill-shaped cutout for a dual selfie camera in the Pro model also. The Smart Island notification feature is expected to integrate this camera. The Pro model will also include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and may feature a dedicated graphics and security chip.
The standard Magic6 is expected to introduce a remarkable 160MP periscope zoom camera and variable aperture on its main OV50H or OV50K camera. Additionally, 66W wired charging is in the cards.
