Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro spotted on NBTC, launching on January 8
Asus is set to reveal its new ROG Phone 8 series, the latest flagship gaming smartphone, at CES 2024 on January 8. The series will hit the Chinese market on January 16. Before the launch, the ROG Phone 8 Pro has already surfaced on the NBTC certification website.
The NBTC certification confirms that the ROG Phone 8 Pro (model AI2401_D) will work with 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks. Despite limited details, the certification suggests the ROG Phone 8 Pro will soon launch in Thailand.
According to rumors, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro may feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for an exciting gaming experience. It’s likely to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, as confirmed by a Geekbench listing. The device may come in configurations with 16GB or 24GB of RAM and storage options from 512GB to 1TB.
Rumors suggest the smartphone will have three cameras: a 50MP main camera (Sony IMX890 sensor), a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP telephoto lens. It also may sport a 32MP front camera for selfies and carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The ROG Phone 8 series includes the ROG Phone 8 Pro, ROG Phone 8, and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate models. As the launch approaches, anticipate the smartphone gaining various regional certifications.
