Xiaomi 14 could come with wider variable aperture to its main camera
Xiaomi released the 14 and 14 Pro phones, each equipped with three 50 MP cameras. The Ultra version, however, will be announced later and is expected to boast four 50 MP cameras along with a faster f/1.6-f/4.0 variable aperture on its main sensor, as per a recent report.
Xiaomi is no stranger to variable aperture solutions. The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro feature a two-step lens switching between f/1.4 and f/4.0. Although the Ultra’s f/1.6 is a tad slower, its larger sensor is expected to compensate for it. It’s an upgrade from the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s f/1.9.
Prior reports suggested the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s main camera would feature a Sony LYT-900 sensor. When paired with a new Xiaomi feature enabling dynamic lens adjustments based on incoming light during video recording, this could significantly enhance the Ultra’s camera capabilities.
