NIO Phone takes its First Software Update. The NIO Phone, a first-generation smartphone from Chinese EV manufacturer NIO, has just received its first software update. Some customers downloaded the update in its entirety in 128MB, while others had to download it in its entirety in 558MB, which included Intelligent Vehicle Control and NIO Link Relay to the smartphone.
When stepping into an NIO car, the Intelligent Vehicle Control supports fingerprint identification and onboard temperature synchronization, while NIO Link Relay enables users to transfer navigation to the in-car system and have it automatically finish on the NIO Phone.
NIO Phone takes its First Software Update
The addition of voice command functionality for a countdown timer, a global clock, and a navigation route is also provided via NIO Link Relay. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, is at the heart of the SkyUI-powered NIO Phone.
It features a 5.200 mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging and a 6.81″ 120Hz 1440p OLED display. The NIO Phone boasts four cameras: a 50MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a selfie camera. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
