Motorola Edge 40 Pro gets Geekbench along with 12GB RAM

Motorola Edge 40 Pro gets Geekbench along with 12GB RAM. Initially debuted in China in December under the moniker Moto X40, the rebranded Edge 40 Pro may soon make its way to countries outside Asia. A prototype Motorola Edge 40 Pro completed Geekbench today, earning a spot in the benchmark’s online hall of fame.

The Edge 40 Pro received a single-core score of 1,480 and a multi-core score of 4,889 on Geekbench 5. In the case of the Moto X40, “two motherboards” may be “associated with” the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The prototype used 12GB of RAM while doing the test (never mind the 11GB in the listing – Geekbench always slightly underreports memory).

In addition, there are Moto X40 variants with 12GB of RAM. Coincidence? Unlikely. The Edge 40 Pro might match the X40’s memory capacity of 8 GB. The benchmark list often includes the phone’s operating system. Sure enough, it’s Android 13.

Let’s pretend the Edge 40 Pro and X40 are interchangeable. In that case, it will feature a 6.7-inch 1080×2400 165 Hz OLED display, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, up to 512GB of storage, a triple rear camera system (50 MP main with OIS, 50 MP ultrawide with autofocus for macro shots, and 12 MP 2x optical zoom), a 60 MP selfie camera, and a 4,600 mAh battery with 125W wired charging 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging.
